Did You Know?
Did You Know? Long Range Facilities Committee members are learning about the unique lunch spaces across district buildings.
At the last Silver Falls School District Long Range Facilities Committee meeting they reviewed a report on educational adequacy. This report shows how well each facility supports today’s educational programs and learning needs.
As the committee learned more about how our buildings are used each day, they discovered and discussed some unique lunch arrangements shaped by available space:
At Mark Twain Elementary, students eat lunch on the stage in the gymnasium while physical education classes take place below on the gym floor.
At Victor Point Elementary, students pick up their meals in the library and return to their classrooms to eat.
At Robert Frost Elementary, the library also serves as the primary lunch space for students.
At Evergreen Elementary, students eat in classrooms due to no cafeteria.
These creative solutions reflect the flexibility of staff and students, but they also show how building design directly influences daily routines. Understanding situations like these helps the Long Range Facilities Committee better evaluate how current facilities support or limit student experiences as they consider future improvements across the district.
